Open2Meet · last updated Oct 8, 2026
Open2Meet helps people discover other people who are currently open to meeting someone new. You use it by messaging our Instagram account. This page explains what we store, why, and how you can remove it.
What we collect
- Instagram identity: the Instagram-scoped id Meta assigns to you for our account, your public username and profile link. We never ask for or store your Instagram password, and we do not store your profile picture or private Instagram content.
- Discovery profile you give us in chat: first name, age, gender, city, interests from our catalogue, and what you are open to (friends, dating, networking, social).
- Discovery preferences: the age range and genders you want to meet.
- Activity: when your discovery mode is on, the match proposals you receive and your answers to them, and the messages exchanged with our bot so the conversation can continue where it left off.
What we use it for
- To suggest people who are compatible with you and currently open to meeting.
- To reveal your Instagram username to another person only after you both explicitly accept each other. Before that, other people see only your first name, age, city, interests and what you are open to.
- To keep the service safe: handling blocks and reports, and preventing abuse.
- To measure how the service is used in aggregate, without selling or sharing your personal data with advertisers.
Who can see your data
Other users see the limited discovery profile described above, and your Instagram username only after a mutual match. We do not sell personal data. Messages are delivered through Meta's Instagram platform under Meta's own terms and privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Your profile and preferences stay for as long as your account exists. Technical delivery records of messages are kept for a limited time for reliability and are then deleted automatically.
Deleting your data
Send the message DELETE to our Instagram account at any time. Your profile, preferences and Instagram identity are removed and your account is closed. Anonymous statistics that cannot identify you may be retained.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time what data we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion. Contact us through our Instagram account or the contact address listed there.
